Hardware & Software Design
Archangel Systems has an experienced team of engineers and programmers on staff to assist in your hardware and software design needs. Our design team has more than 60 years combined experience in avionics and inertial systems, more than 70 years combined experience in software development, and more than 80 years combined experience in control systems and signals. Our technical staff includes six Ph.D.s or Ph.D. candidates as well as 6 M.S. engineers. In addition, Archangel has a cooperative research agreement with Auburn University, with three professors and numerous support staff involved. This team has more than 50 combined years of experience in micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS) design. Finally, Archangel has a Ph.D. experimental psychologist on staff to assist with Human Factors issues in the design of products.
Hardware specialties include design, prototyping and testing of circuits using Rigid, Rigid Flex and Flex PCBs containing TI TMS320 DSP, PIC microcontrollers, A2D converters, instrumentation amplifiers, power protection circuitry and switching power supplies. Software specialties include MATLAB, customized graphics, TMS320 DSP, IntelliSuite, C, C++, LabView, CVI, and PIC microcontrollers assembly language. Areas of expertise include sensor development, hardware & software development.
Other core competencies are Digital Signal Processing (DSP) & Embedded System design & implementation. Archangel also has extensive experience in the design of specialty displays, bus systems, & sensors, including Inertial Measurement Units (IMUs), Air Data Attitude Heading Reference Systems (ADAHRS), Inertial Navigation Systems (INS), rollover sensors and power electronics.
Archangel maintains a Configuration Management System & processes that are approved to DO178b, Level A standards. The experienced software team at Archangel has developed code & high level test cases, executed high level test cases, & performed structural analysis and test case coverage at both Levels A & B.
