Marenco Swisshelicopter Ltd Executes Letter of Intent for the Archangel Systems AHR75 AHRS

Marenco Swisshelicopter Ltd. and Archangel Systems, Inc. have executed a Letter of Intent to evaluate Archangel’s new AHR75 AHRS for the SKYe SH09 installation.

From Martin Stucki, Marenco CEO, “Given Marenco’s mantra for “high and hot” performance in SAR missions, we require an AHRS that is lightweight and cost effective but with stellar performance in shallow and high bank situations.  High bank windup is intolerable for us.  Archangel has accelerated their design and certification cycle to match our internal timeline.  If our testing goes well, we will have a winner in the AHR75.”

AHR75 AHRS and AHR150A-2 MSU

Marenco will combine the AHR75 with Archangel’s AHR150A-2 MSU for a complete AHRS solution. Software in both components is DO-178B Level A certified and the DO-160E categories are ideal for composite bodies.  The AHR75 will be certified under the FAA’s new C-201 TSO for AHRS.Michael Greene, Archangel CEO stated, “We are very excited to have Marenco exercising the AHR75.  It was designed specifically for aircraft like the SKYe SH09 – a single shipset scenario where performance, reliability and compatibility with the avionics already on the install list are critical.”Bench testing will begin immediately at Marenco’s Niederurnen, Switzerland facility with flight test slated for mid 2013.
