PROJECT LEAD ENGINEER - MEMS/ELECTRONICS FOR INERTIAL SENSORS
In 2006 Archangel won a DARPA Navigation Grade Integrated Micro-Gyroscope (NGIMG) contract to develop proprietary and patented NGMARS technology - a complete six axis inertial measurement unit at extreme size, weight and power budgets. Phase 4 of the program began in September, 2009.
Role Summary
Under the guidance of the NGMARS principal investigator, the R&D Staff Engineer will oversee and assist in the daily management of the NGMARS effort. Activities will include:
- work planning for the NGMARS research staff
- design and implementation of support electronics
- mechanical/electrical simulations of the NGMARS MEMS device
- noise analyses and budgets for electronics and complete IMU
Requirements
- Senior level scientist or engineer with at least 8 years experience. At least 3 of those years must be in project management/leadership positions.
- B.S. in engineering or physics
- Full U.S. citizenship
Requisite Skill Set
Current company needs demand a candidate highly competent in:
- R&D team management skills
- Daily control of workflows and outputs
- Short term & long term planning
- Support electronics for MEMS
- Noise analyses
- Low noise implementation including boards and interconnects
and knowledgeable in the areas of
- Electro- and fluid dynamics in MEMS structures
- Air effects at low pressure and small dimensions
- Simulation
- MEMS Fabrication Processes
- Transitioning electronics to ASIC design houses
Demonstrated Track Record
The candidate must have a documented track record of success in the following areas:
- Planning, managing and executing MEMS R&D activities at the individual and team level
- Delivering "complete" solutions (validated and documented per plans)
Electrical Engineer
Development & testing applications, analysis of signal integrity issues & industrial compliance, preparing specs for printed-circuit-board manufacturing, firmware coding & scripting for simulation synthesis, verification & testing analog, digital & mixed-signal chips through electronics circuit design & VLSI. Development & testing of IMU products (vehicle stability sensors, & ADAHRS), set up of experimental models to test microcontroller & microprocessor analog & digital circuits, components, equipment & systems, making navigational prototype design mods with CAD tools, application of engineering principles, & contributing to product performance decisions. Citizenship: US citizenship or Permanent Residency is REQUIRED!
PCB Designer and Mechanical Draftsman
Multi-layer PCB designs for both analog and digital electronics using ORCAD software. These will include production and prototype boards of varying complexity. Expertise in placing and routing PCBs ranging from basic analog to high-speed digital circuits, creating component libraries, part placement and routing are required. Mechanical design using AutoCad and SolidWorks and interfacing with fabricators. Also maintaining drawing libraries for our products.Assisting our manufacturing staff with generating assembly and calibration procedures. Requirements include a 2-year technical degree in a relevant field; experience in PCB layout and 2-D CAD; and experience in a manufacturing environment. Other desired qualifications include experience in aerospace/military, IPC-certification, and J standard soldering certification. Citizenship: US citizenship or Permanent Residency is REQUIRED.
Software Engineer
Seeking Embedded Software Engineer with experience in C, 16-bit/32-bit embedded processors, & TI DSPs. Experience in hardware-software integration, testing & debugging is highly desirable. Working experience with emulators, debuggers, logic analyzers, etc is a plus. Will be responsible for development & possibly verification of flight safety-critical avionics software per Archangel, DO-178B, & FAA regulations. Applicants should be comfortable having active involvement in all aspects of the sofware development process, including requirements analysis, real-time system design, code development, debugging, hardware/software integration, code validation, & testing. The ideal candidate will have avionics, attitude, and air data sensor system development experience, as well as experience with DO-178B/FAA certification. B.S. degree in Electrical/ Computer Engineering or related field is required and advanced degrees are considered a plus. U.S Citizen or Permanent Residency is REQUIRED!
